Two memorial services will be held for late Mbaqanga pioneer David “Mdavu” Masondo.
Masondo who passed on in the weekend after battling illness for sometime will be laid to rest on Sunday.
Friends, fans and family are expected to gather on Thursday morning in Newtown and Hammarsdale for David Masondo’s memorial service.
The Soul Brother’s leading man died on Sunday evening at the Garden City Hospital. David, who was 67 years old, was admitted to hospital a week before his death, after suffering from exhaustion.
Details about his home going and memorial were put on the band’s facebook page.
Fans in Johannesburg can pay tribute to the star at the Museum Afrika in Newtown at 12:00 today.
And, fans in KZN wishing to pay their respects can do so at the Mpumalanga College in KZN at 14:00.
The singer is believed to be survived by his more than 40 children, with his oldest son being 47 and the youngest aged 12.
