It’s only a matter of when before petty thugs start robbing the dead too.
IOL reports that paramedics where held at gunpoint while trying to stabilize a girl child in Cape Town, outskirts Khayelitsha.
According to the report two thugs in their 20’s came to the scene and flung the emergency vehicle’s door open while paramedics were trying to stabilize a young girl, and demanded cash, cellphones and jewellery.
One of the emergency worker who was at the scene says one thug kept on demanding the vehicle’s keys and when he was handed them he went straight to the front and silenced the alarm so it wouldn’t go off.
After the petty robbery the thugs fled the scene and the paramedics continued to stabilize the girl and took her to the nearby hospital.
The suspects fled the scene with cellphones and a GPS from the ambulance.
The paramedics continued to treat the little girl and took her to Khayelitsha District Hospital, ER24 said.
A case of armed robbery was opened at the Khayelitsha police station. No one was injured in the incident.
