- 1 teaspoon whole cloves
- 1 teaspoon whole allspice
- 3 cinnamon sticks
- 1 inch of fresh ginger, peeled
- Strips of lemon and orange peel
- 1/2 gallon apple cider
1. Tie the cloves, allspice, cinnamon, ginger and citrus peel in a piece of cheesecloth.
2. Place the spice bag in a large pot with the apple cider. Bring the cider to a low boil over medium heat. Turn down the heat and let simmer 20 to 30 minutes.
3. Discard the spice bag before serving.
